“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
― Shel Silverstein

It has been almost 1 month since I have been here. I am not sure how that happened☹ Life happens, I guess.
I have returned from Brazil and life resumed as usual, with work headaches here and there.
We had to find a replacement for our IT provider that just retired. So far so good with the new vendor, but changes are always scary for me.
I am trying to resume my routine of walking on the beach in the mornings. Encountering turtles is always a special reward. I have seen 2 this morning. For some reason I cannot upload the videos. So here is a picture.

Michael and I decided that we will not be skiing in Ushuaia, Argentina this summer. The logistics were driving me crazy, so we will skip skiing this summer. We will be going to NY for a couple of weeks to spend time with my sister and visit friends there.
In the fall we will head to Brazil to spend some time with mom and my brother, and perhaps doing some traveling within Brazil. There is so much of Brazil I don’t know.
I want to do more traveling and mentioned to the boss/partner my wishes to retire sooner rather than later. This week he sent me this laptop extender. It will make it easier to work on the go. I got his message 🙂

Are you watching the World Cup? This time I am not that excited as in prior years. I am disappointed with Brazil’s team. There is so much politics and money involved. They draft players for reasons other than actual good playing.
Still, I am following it and trying to watch all the games. I love the feel-good stories that come out of it. I love the underdogs that overcome difficulties and come out on top.
Speaking of that, have you heard of Vozinha, the goalie of Cape Verde? He is 40 years old and just so happy and excited to be at the World Cup.
Cape Verde is small African country consisting of 10 small islands. They share my same language: Portuguese. It is the first time that Cape Verde qualifies for the World Cup.
Vozinha exhibited so much heart in playing in his first game against Spain. Spain is one of the favorites to win the World Cup. It was a huge feat to tie with them, and not to concede a single goal.
A Brazilian broadcaster decided that he would stand behind Vozinha and try to get him more visibility. They asked their viewers to follow him. The result? He went from under 50k followers yesterday morning, to 9.7 million now and growing. The population in Cape Verde is 530,000.
The power of social media. The power of World Cup. With so much tragedies, disgrace and hate these days, I look for anything to make me believe in love, heart and hope.

I am not editing this, otherwise it will be another month before I post again. So, I am sorry for the typos.
Kudos on making travel a priority Ana. I’m retired and have the time and means, but have bogged down in choices and logistics. 😊
Hi Brad,
I hope you are doing well.
I totally relate. When I start making travel plans, sometimes it seems easier and less work to just stay at home 🙂
Blessings!
Thanks. 😊
♥♥
Very nice.
Thank you! Blessings!
I am watching the world cup a little bit. I am originally from Sweden so I was happy when Sweden won 5 – 1 to Tunisia. I love skiing but I have never skied in Argentina or even visited the southern hemisphere. I hope all goes well with the new IT provider.
Hi Thomas,
Sweden frustrated Tunisia so much that they fired their coach after that game 🙂
I want to get better at skiing and wanted to try skiing both seasons, but this time the logistics were just too much for me.
So far so good with the IT, fingers crossed it remains that way.
Blessings to you!
Wow I did not know that. Firing the coach seems to be a strong reaction. How is that going to help the next game? Skiing in both seasons is not easy. It is a lot of travel. However, I’ve done some summer skiing in Austria on a glacier near Zell am Zee. It is great to hear that the IT is working out sofar.
World Cup is serious business for many countries, but I do not understand the reasoning behind it that move.
Skiing in Austria is on my list. Pardon my ignorance, I had never hear of Zell am Zee – so now I have another place to explore.
The change in IT has been better than I expected.
Blessings!

I believe you are on the right track. Festina lente!
Hi Catherine,
I confess I had to Google “Festina lente”. I love the meaning of it!
Thank you and blessings to you!
Your boss is not a subtle person is he? 😂😂😂
I’m not a soccer/football follower but it’s hard to escape the excitement in our city as we’re hosting it this year. Been fun to see it come alive!
Not he is not lol
I think he was a bit shocked to learn of my intentions.
I am trying to focus on the good side of the World Cup, such as the joy that brings to so many and how it unites people all over the globe, instead of focusing on the politics and commercialization of it.
Enjoy the World cup fever!
Blessings!
It’s always good to catch up with you and your life over your posts. Thanks for sharing the love and feel good story. We need it. The world needs it.
Hi Cassa,
It is always a joy to hear from you.
You are right, we do need more love and good stories. There is so much hate and tragedy nowadays.
Blessings to you!
You retire when you think is right. Don’t worry about others. Go and travel. See the world. There is so much of it. ❤️😊 Enjoy life. You and Michael seem to be a great team. Xx
Hi Ute,
I have been thinking about retiring more and more… There is so much to do and see, and I want to do it while willing and able.
I am so happy that Michael and I found each other – we are indeed a great team!
Thank you and blessings to you!
