Learning French, learning to be comfortable on skis, learning to make mosaic, mosaic tray, skiing in 2021, staying the course on wants
“Do not think of todays failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow.” ―
To prove I am not a mosaic one-trick-pony, here is a tray I just finished 🙂
I forgot to take pictures from the beginning. I was too engrossed into already planning my next table (truth).
I am really getting into a good routine with mosaics. I go to the studio every Saturday or Sunday for a couple of hours. It feels great to pursue one of my passions, and not just do it once in a blue moon.
“We can do anything we want as long as we stick to it long enough.” ―
Now I need to tackle learning French and skiing.
French – I start teaching myself every few months. I guess what I really need is to make sure to stay the course. Every time is like starting over when I really should be fluent by now.
“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going” ―
Skiing – This one requires more effort. Not only it requires more money and planning it requires me to let go of the fear of speed. The moment I pick up any speed I panic. I need many more miles under my skis to hopefully get more comfortable.
Now with Covid everything became even more difficult. Who knows when I will have a chance to go again. I want to book a trip but all is so uncertain that I think I will wait awhile longer.
But I am not giving up. I will be perfectly comfortable skiing blues one day. Mark my words! 🙂
“Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let them master you. Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight.”―
I’m with you on skiing. I don’t like going down the side of a mountain at breakneck speeds, while on a sheet of ice. Not for me. Your table mosaics are beautiful!

Thank you! I appreciate that 🙂
I don’t get the appeal either. I just want to go down the mountain appreciating the scenery, the air on my face and in 1 piece.
Blessings! ♥♥

I’m way too focused on staring at the cable to make sure that it doesn’t snap, not that staring prevents it from breaking. 😉

oh no, now you are giving me additional worries. I was so worried preparing myself psychologically to get off of it that I never worried about the cable. Thanks 😦 lol
I hate to see you on the gondola in Whistler then – that thing is high!!

I have issues with elevators, let alone gondolas!

There were a few horrible deaths in elevators in NY very recently. So you are right in being concerned. I keep trying to remember to never hold the elevator open with my arm, even if people think I am being rude.
What about escalators? I rather take the stairs. Going up okay, but going down. I am that lady at the top holding back the line waiting for the perfect moment to put her foot down.

lmao! Well, then I apologize for my epic eye-roll when you delayed my transit on the escalator. 😀 I used to be paranoid about them after hearing about those urban legends of people’s laces getting caught. Ouch.

Second time you had to apologize today! 3 strikes and you are out 🙂
It is not an urban legend. There must be a video somewhere of someone getting their shoelaces caught on it.
A couple of years ago, in the then new Oculus building in NY, a young woman lost her balance and her life.
Gosh, we need to talk about fun stuff…

Ok, fine. I promise not to apologize again. 😉 I’ll skip to forgiveness, so please forgive me if I don’t search that video out.

oh please, English is not my first language, but don’t try to fool me with semantics. 😉
And for that you are not forgiven… I will think of fitting punishment. 🙂

But I’ve been working very hard on my semantics. 😉 I will accept my punishment, no matter what the severity is. 😀

I thought you were already the King of Semantics, but I guess that title goes to Mr. Tips.
Don’t get too excited about your punished. It wouldn’t be a punishment if you actually enjoyed it, so I really need to reflect on it 😉

You might be correct about Mr. Tips. He’s always spouting off about something. haha, yes I should not be smiling so much about an impending punishment. 😉

That looks beautiful. Where do you get the pieces from? old plates?

Thank you Ute!
Those are all old plates. Someone had tons of it and gifted the studio. Others were bought.
Some are so beautiful that it is a shame to break it.
Wishing you a blessed day! 🙂

Everytime I pick up my Uke, I start over.. maybe because i just like to pluck?
I’ve given up the skiing and prefer the snow shoes and walks or cross country.
Great post. ❤️ Cindy
