Today a saw a snake on the beach.
I am terrified of snakes, even if it is just a tad larger than a worm. This finding makes me afraid of my morning walks and of going in the water.
I am not sure it had been in the dune vegetation and just wondered off too far, or perhaps a bird was carrying it and dropped it.
Since I heard the story of the hawk that dropped a snake on a woman and then both started attacking her, I am always aware of birds above me.

After a few more minutes walking I encountered all these birds. I am surprised they didn’t notice the snake.

Oh honey, I can relate. 😫 Even the garden snakes folks say aren’t venomous, I still have a problem with them! UGH! 😝

We feel the same way.
The first thing people say is that it is non-venomous, but I don’t care. I just dislike them a lot.

I am really blessed to be this contact with nature early in the morning… even though now I will start looking out for snakes everywhere.

I am glad I didn’t step on it. And just yesterday, while on my bike, I saw a dead Black Racer on the street.

No, I don’t think so. There was no yellow, just brown.
It was probably just a garter snake from the dunes.

I’m terrified of snakes as well. When we saw a water snake, at least a meter long and as thick as my wrist, I refused to go back in the water for the rest of our camping trip and I was super cautious and wary walking anywhere in the park. Those birds were remarkably unafraid.

I would have done the same. It sounds terrifying.
One of the reasons I don’t really care for camping.
I thought the birds would be at least curious, but I think they never noticed it.
