“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create.” ―
My city is in the news and not for a good thing. New Rochelle has the most cases of coronavirus in NY state. All the cases are tied to an orthodox Jewish community. An attorney that attends that synagogue first contracted and passed it around.
I am curious to know how he contracted. It has to come from somewhere. My co-worker attends that synagogue. The moment he heard about it he self quarantined.
Today governor Andrew Cuomo deployed the National Guard and created a 1-mile contained zone around the synagogue in New Rochelle. I live 2 miles away in the downtown area.
For now, for me, is still business as usual, but should it be? I have trips scheduled. I am bringing my mom to the US in about one month. Should I cancel everything? Should I stock up food?
What I am doing is washing my hands more often and cleaning everything in sight with alcohol wipes.
I actually ordered masks for when my mother travels here, but they say that masks don’t really do much.
I go from not caring to being worried. I will wait and see…and wash my hands again.
“If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it’s not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.”―
If you take those precautions, you’ll be okay. I’m hoping the best for you. Great Dalai Lama quote.

You do the right thing, we are still working in a school and keep washing hands etc. Life goes on. Us as healthy adults we are ok, I am not too worried about myself. I do not want to give it to others though. Also I am worried for older people. If my mum and dad were still alive, I would be very worried about them as it seems all older people with other conditions get it worse. See how it develops and think before you bring your mum. Keep her where it is safer.

Hi Ute,
I think like you and I am not worried for myself. My concern is traveling with my mom.
She will be heart broken if I cancel her trip here. I am waiting 1 month before a decision, hopefully things will be better by then.
Blessings to you! ♥♥

I know how you feel. I just canceled plans I had to meet friends for lunch and go to the Museum of Modern Art this weekend. I have theater tickets at the end of the month and hoping things are better then. This is incredible.

Hi Gail
It is a shame you had to cancel what seemed like a great day with friends. Hopefully you can reschedule it soon.
I guess it is better to be cautious and stay away from crowds if you can avoid them.
I have to take the train every morning and evening so there is really no escape. I never know what is going on with the person seated next to me 😦
If I had theater tickets I probably would go.
Be safe! Blessings! ♥♥

I don’t think you should be worried. Yes, we need to take precautions, but someone at the grocery store could be sick and we wouldn’t know. This is not something we can control. We can try to not be in contact with a lot of people — that’s good, but other than that it is up to Fate — that’s how I see it. Be safe.

Indeed, we can be as safe as we can and still get it.
We don’t know who has it. I may already have it and just not have the symptoms.
I am paying more attention to what I touch and making sure not to touch my face. It is so hard, I didn’t realize how many times I touched my face until now that I am trying not to.
Thank you and blessings to you! ♥♥

Hi Gavin
I like your approach and I agree: there is no sense in worrying.
Still at times I see worry creeping in and I end up feeling powerless.
oh well, will think of you and let it go.

I am the same as you. I mean I am a germaphobe anyway, so I am never one to touch door handles or share a drink or use my fingers to type in pin numbers. There really is not much we can do. I did buy 10 pks of tuna for 10 dollars and may really stock up on protein drinks and cat food. Besides that I dont think I will do much else but keep my mom and teen home as much as I can except when I take mom to radiation or when the kiddo goes to school. Prayers for your community.

Hi Dee
I am the opposite 😦 I share drinks, touch doors and keypads, all without giving any thought. I do wash my hands often, so at least that is a habit.
Thank you for your prayers and sending prayers back to you as well, and specially for your mom as she deals with radiation.
Blessings! ♥♥

I have been reading a great Law of Attraction book by Ester Hicks, who Abraham speaks through. It has been a wonderful text to help me refine what I know and sort out what I don’t on the subject. One of the basic tenets is that “you can have anything you desire if it’s positive deep within you.” So, I am careful, but, basically, not worried for myself about this virus. I feel confident and joyful in almost all things. My heart is relaxed, for the most part.
You are in my thoughts, you and your sister and mother.

It sounds like you are in a great place – I am happy for you.

We are. I am, slowly, getting my house so that guest(s) could visit and not shake their heads. It is a clean house, just needs work here and there, more here.
The book is really great, so is Pam Grout’s blog page. She says not to over-worry, as the law of attraction says anything is possible, just think and desire and that of the small percentage infected with the virus 97.5% fully recover.

I am glad you are being cautious and not panicking.
At this point it has been more of an inconvenience and annoyance.
Hopefully it will not drag on into autumn as I just read some doctor predicting.

Dragging into Autumn sounds like it will. We will see. I just keep looking to God (the Universe) for guidance and help, as well as knowing we can do things, too.

I’m not going to let this virus steal my joy. Think of all the things that haven’t killed us in our lives, all we’ve been through. This will come and go, and the media will tire of inciting panic, and we can breathe a collective sigh of relief. For now, just keep breathing.

Yes. I concur totally, if it’s beyond our powers all we have to do is observe protocol and live normally without panic. I’ve read about it and realized it’s just a normal flu and by chance you might be immune to it.
