Today has been a great day. Well, every day is a great day, but today I have a story to tell.
As you know, as I walk I pick whatever I see on the sand that doesn’t belong there, mostly trash.
This morning I thought I was picking up a piece of an old phone case, but it turns out it was a new iPhone. I was shocked to see it, I picked up and looked around to see if perhaps there was a person in the water, which I didn’t believe it would be the case. At the time I walk, there is nobody in the ocean, plus the phone was almost completely covered in sand, so it seemed it had been there awhile.
I tried unlocking it to see if I could call someone. There were a bunch of voice mails and text on the screen, but I was not able to unlock it. Then, a message flashed on the screen something like: “This phone has been lost please call ….)
I hit call and got a voice mail. I left a message. Then I called again from my own phone to make sure the person had my number.
I continued walking, a bit faster to get home and search the internet for information on the number. That is when I see a young lady walking very fast and seeming a bit lost. Immediately I knew she was the phone owner.
As she got a bit closer she started saying: “I know you are picking up trash, have you…” I didn’t even let her finish and showed her the phone.
She immediately grabbed the phone and gave me the biggest hug. She was so relieved, and I was so happy to reunite the lost phone with the owner.
She was very grateful and asked if she could do anything for me, buy me coffee or something like that. I said: “Absolutely not, I am happy to do it, and I believe in karma. I hope if I ever lose my phone somebody finds it and returns it.”
After getting home, I received a text from her thanking me again. I was shocked to see attached a gift card:
I now need to find a way to use this gift for a good cause.

You want to keep paying it forward. Lovely.
Hi Cynthia,
Indeed, that is the idea – the more one gives, the more one gets 🙂
Blessings to you!
LOVEly
Thank you, Sheree! Blessings!
You are amazing! I too believe in karma and I would have done the same thing. Cell phones have become a lifeline for so many people. I’ve “lost” mine a time or two to see if I could function without it. Apparently I couldn’t because my husband has brought it to me each time. Amazon has a lot of cool stuff. I tend to save my gift cards to buy something amazing for myself. I got one for my birthday but I’m going to surprise my youngest and his team with a soccer trophy for this current season. Kudos! You are blessed!
Hi Mia,
Thank you for the kind words.
The more we do the right things, and do things for humanity and nature the more abundant our blessings become!
I am incredibly blessed, and life only keeps getting better.
How nice of you to use your birthday gift to spread love and joy – you are the best!
I am not sure how use it my card yet. I may even use it for a new cell phone case, if I don’t come up with anything else.
Blessings to you!
ps. I hope your son’s team do well this season!!
How nice and kind of you both.
Hi Brad,
The way the humanity should be, people being kind to each other.
Blessings to you!
Yes, I’m glad there are still kind people in today’s crazy and often cruel world.
Hi Brad,
I have been staying away from the news because it is all so depressing, so I do love little instances of people being kind to each other.
a blessed Memorial day weekend to you!
That was a sweet story, for sure! I love happy endings!
