“Open the bloom of your heart and become a gift of beauty to the world.” ― Simple Reminders: Inspiration for Living Your Best Life
Life progresses likes waves in the ocean, with highs and lows. As the spring flowers blossom, so does M and I. We continue flying high, so excited to have found each other and so eager for a future together.
Unfortunately, at work now is a low point. My co-worker will be having another surgery on Monday, to deal with cancer. Fortunately, she thinks that it will be an easier operation this time. Is there anything easy about cancer? I am bracing myself for another 3 months without her.
As she is leaving to have surgery, I am leaving for Brazil. I am still trying to figure out how to do her job while in Brazil, without driving myself insane. This time I am unwilling to take it all upon myself. I have done that for over 20 years at this job. Everything has always been seemingless and perfect no matter what the circumstances were. I am not willing to do it anymore. Some people here will have to step up.
In the meantime, the mosaic studio continues to be my happy place. There, I often do more talking than creating. The ladies there look forward to hearing about the latest news about M. They are so happy for me, as you all are.
This cow is the latest piece I finished. It is a cow that is in love and sees flowers all around. She was going to have legs, but it seemed too complicated so I just put her behind some bushes.
“Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it’s not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?”, here’s an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!” ―
I’m drawn to the shades and patterns of the “bushes” in front of the cow. I’ll bet those were pretty plates once upon a time. And that final quote… oh my. Good for a laugh, but also a sad statement of fact.

Hi Dave,
Those were indeed beautiful plates. And you just gave me an idea. Perhaps, if I remember, I can take pictures of the plates before I destroy them 🙂
I figured there was no harm in ending with a laugh – for those of us with a sense of humor!
Thank you and blessings to you!

Hi Tracy,
It took me a long time to learn; actually I am still trying to learn, to ask for help – at work and in life. I realized now how much my body and mind have suffered because I always felt I had to do it all myself, and all perfectly done.
Thank you for liking my cow. Your smile means the world!
Blessings!

Hi Ab,
Thank you for your well wishes and for the compliments.
We thought that it was all in the past when she had surgery last summer. But it has reared its ugly head again.
Many blessings to you!

I like that you used a country motif plate at the bottom of your work. It’s subtle, but gives it a country look.

Very perceptive of you – it does give it a country look 🙂
Didn’t realize that until now.

Thank you for sharing!!.. wonderful work with the mosaic, well done!.. you are slowly rebuilding your life, this time using patience and follow your heart instead of the path of the crowd… “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”.. 🙂

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend of love and happiness with family and until we meet again..
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

HI Larry,
Indeed, it has been very slow, creating a life after being so hurt, but now everything is so beautiful and it feels so right.
I will follow my heart always… as you do as well.

I loved the cow and how you shared the work in progress to the finished project. I felt like it is a smart way to think about myself- a project still a work-in-progress. Still tweaking and moving forward I hope. Fortunately I have wonderful family, friends and acquaintances who inspire me to be better, do better, and see the best in others without judging.
I love the news about M. May your hearts always flutter thinking about each other.

HI David,
I am so glad you have many around you that inspires you to keep doing better and better. I imagine you are also an inspiration to them, and to me!!
I need so much work, and sometime it is all about embracing some imperfections instead of trying to be perfect.
M is the best, and we are on the same page of being committed to making this relationship work.
It feels great!
Thank you and blessings to you!

Wishing so! I was just watching Indian Matchmaking on Netflix. Such a nice show. They too had some success. One girl the matchmaker couldn’t help, she went online and found HER guy and got engaged. These are strong independent young Indian women like our generation, so they need the right kind of guys. It’s a nice show. Blessings!!

Another one, Jewish dating. It’s fun to watch. Reminds us, it takes time, but what I like is that with the matchmaker, people are more serious to meet and get married. Also, in their community, courtship is FAST, sounds like within 3 months engaged, then married pretty fast.

I started watching the Indian one yesterday. I think I watched 3 episodes in a row lol. Next will be the Jewish one. They do get married fast and young.
