I am still here, just the usual busyness.
I went to NY for a couple of weeks to pack some more of my stuff. At the moment, I only have some of my mom’s paintings and mosaic materials left there.
I thought I would be going back to NY more often, but that is not the case. I rather try to develop a routine here.
Another 2 weeks of routine here, and we are off to ski in Chile. I am so excited about that!! From there we will be spending a couple of months in Brazil to help out with my aging parents.
The audit my company is going through it is coming to an end. It has taken 6 months. I just need to write a couple of pages of answers to their findings, and a couple of late requests, but I am so relieved that this is final. Hopefully it will be more than a couple of years until they return again.
I am still walking on the beach in the mornings and bicycle riding along the river in the afternoons.
I am not sure why, but I haven’t really been finding a lot on the beach, not even garbage. Perhaps:
- Someone is getting up earlier than I do and cleans up the beach. I go to walk at 6am.
- There has been a lot less people on the beach. Less people, less garbage.
- People are becoming better about picking up after themselves. I wish!!
I still continue to see turtles laying their eggs. I just look from a distance. I want to give them their space. It is a long nesting season for the 3 types of turtles we have here: green turtle, leatherback and the loggerhead.
I have only seen 1 baby so far. By the prints on the sand, it looked like he was just late leaving the nest.
Clearly by the video I could never be a videographer 😊. In my defense, I was far away so it was not that simple.
I hope you are having an amazing summer (or winter depending in what hemisphere you are).
Blessings!

I learned today that you can ski in Chile. How interesting. Have a great time!

Hi Ab,
There are skiing mountains in Chile and Argentina. I have never been to any, so I hope it will be a good experience.

I love the turtles!! They are so cute! My brother (when we were younger) found a turtle egg once. He buried it in sand in a butter dish. The dish was forgotten and we went back to the city. My grandmother went to our cabin to get it ready for a winter visit and she heard some scratching noises. She was very surprised to find the dish with a very tiny turtle in it! She brought it to us and my mom set up a home for it in a fish tank. The turtle was named Courtney.

Hi Mia, oh wow, I love this story! How long did Courtney live?
I feel for the little turtles. It is a long way to get to the ocean, and so many things could go wrong, such as birds, dogs, crabs, etc. Then they get to the ocean and there are more kinds of danger.
I hope to see many more little ones.
Blessings to you!

Unfortunately, Courtney crawled into a log and got stuck. We had her for a couple of months before that happened.

Those turtles can move! So strange to think about skiing when the weather around here (South Carolina) is so hot and humid. Glad Florida continues to work out for you. Sounds like you’re taking full advantage of all it has to offer.

Hi Dave,
I never thought I would enjoy Florida as much as I am enjoying now. Seeing the physical decline of my aging parents makes me want to do as much as I can while I can. That means trying to ski two seasons a year :-).
Blessings to you!

The way turtles make babies is both fascinating and adorable! Perhaps someone does clean up very early, such as if a new initiative was introduced, but it is impossible to tell.

Hi Victoria,
I do have the feeling that someone is cleaning up in the evenings. I go to walk at dawn, so any earlier is too dark.
The turtles are indeed adorable and seeing their nesting habits is amazing!
Blessings!
