Yesterday, Michael and I spent the day in the very charming community called Celebration. We had a late lunch/early dinner at Regianno’s and ice cream at Kilwins.
It was my dear friend Kat from lifetreeandcoffee.wordpress.com who recommended it all. Thank you, thank you!! We loved everything!
The town is so charming and friendly. We chatted with a bunch of local people.

Pumpkin ice cream. Hm? How was it?

Michael got that one. I didn’t want to try it. I had the toasted coconut and it was delicious.

Nice pics. Looks like a great day. Your “diving duck” is a cormorant and they are a scourge. In Ontario they are invasive and have been taking up the nests of other birds like Blue Herons and Common Loons. The Provincial Govenment had set up a hunt of them in 2020.

Hi Robbie,
Thank you for bringing that up. I just went searching for more details on that.
KE mentioned the name Anhinga. I Googled and it looked more like an anhinga then a cormorant.
The key difference is the beak. From now on I will be able to identify these species.
Blessings to you!

What a cheerful name! And the scenery matches the name too. I will say though the alligator signs are a tad creepy. Glad you didn’t encounter any!

That sign stopped me in my tracks, but I am already hyper aware any time I am near water here in Florida. I have read and hear too many stories.

I believe you are correct! Robbie mentioned that it could be a cormorant, so I Googled and it definitely looks more like an anhinga.
Thank you for the bird lesson! 🙂

Haha you’re welcome. For a minute, I was kind of studying Florida birds.

Was it kind of eerie that there were no other people around? (Empty streets, empty chairs, empty pool….)

Hi Madeline,
That is thanks to my photographic skills. I avoid posting pictures of people without their consent, It does look eerie now lol

I noticed my non-manicured hands and almost didn’t publish that picture. In the end the ice cream won.
Perhaps one day I will post our pictures… never say never.

Oh darling, since mine are rarely manicured, I didn’t notice that. Ice cream always wins. Oh Yay, I can’t wait for the day. I do have your cute pic from that I adore. You know when I was encouraging you to “come out” and we would do a collab. Lol.
“never say never.” NEVER EVER!
Hugs! 💕

I want to see Celebration some day, Ana. I know the concept of the urban design and it sounds almost too quaint to be true. Of course they have a Kilwin’s! We had one in Colorado and the temptations were many, not just the ice cream.

It was pretty quaint and peaceful. I had never heard of Kilwins before. I guess there are a bunch of them all around the country. Yes, there are too many temptations there.

that looks like designed city and so quaint. Definitely I would enjoy cycling at those location. The snake and gator thing kind of freaks me out as walking along the edge of bodies of water is second nature to me.

Hi David,
Nice to hear from you!
It was a designed city. Everything seemed perfect, except for the potential of meeting a snake or a croc near the lake 🙂
Blessings to you!
