“Blessed are the flexible, for change is inevitable. To fulfill our true destiny as spiritual beings we must trust in our divine power to adapt.” ―
Eight months ago, if you asked me if I would ever live in Florida, I will respond: NEVER! And now here I am! And it feels right and good!
The plan is to inject more fun and life into my days. I plan to work remotely from Florida, Brazil, and other possible traveling locations.
Right now I am in Florida for a couple of weeks. So far working from here has been perfect. My computer, monitors, etc, all arrived and are working perfectly.
Our condo is in a golfing community. It has been quiet and calming. In NY I am surrounded by huge building constructions, with the noise starting at 6am, Monday through Saturday. This silence has been a welcomed and desired change of pace.
We arrived on Saturday and the weather has been absolutely perfect – warm days and cool nights. We are not right on the beach, we are a 25 minute drive from it. Most evenings will either drive to the beach for long walks or walk around where we live.
This new life is amazing! I am so blessed and I know it!

Always a Delta fan – well, will see how it will go with the new changes to their rewards program. We were upgraded to First Class.

Great meal for a 2 and half hour flight – it tastes so much better than it looks. Even if I am not hungry I will always accept the meal/snack, as I am always curious, and afraid I will be missing out.
My view while I work. I look out of the balcony and hear birds and see palm trees. I could get used to this.
My new mode of transportation. We don’t normally use it, other than to make sure that it continues in good working conditions. We are not golfers, and normally opt to walk, instead of ride.

New Smyrna Beach at sunset. A gorgeous cool evening. Along the walk we encountered a couple of people only.
“With change being an inevitable element in our lives, we have only two options. Either embrace it and live life to the fullest or be stuck in the comfort zone of a compromised life.” ―

Congrats! I envy you! 💕
My daughter is picking up and moving to Florida in two weeks or so. She is looking for a place near Satellite Beach. That general area anyway. I’m both sad and happy. I will miss her so much. She’s going to be a long ways from Indiana. She’s strong like that. To be able to move away by herself. Being flexible. Change is inevitable. ♥️

Hi Andi,
How exciting for your daughter. I am sure you will miss her, but, now you have an excuse to come to Florida.
I think Satellite Beach is one hour away from me.
I believe that change is always good. Welcome to the changes!
Thank you and blessings!

Florida is a nice vacation spot but I personally would be hesitant to move there like you were. I am glad you like it. Great photos.

Hi Thomas,
I understand how you feel. I will be moving around and not spending more than a couple of weeks here, so for now it feels very doable – like a vacation.
I am hoping that I am as enthusiastic about it as time goes by.
Thank you and blessings to you!

so much surprise on my face! Wonderful that you enjoying the change. I know nothing about NY life but have visited Florida once and I liked it around Tampa Bay area. Come to think of it, I also visited Daytona Beach once and it was nice there but busy certain times of the year. Many nice beach spots.
I love palm trees and water, and lots of little birds to watch when I go to these types of spots. I hope you are enjoying being a local. I hope you had comfy seats in first class. Let me know your secret to an upgrade. 🙂

Hi David,
I am embracing the changes and giving everything my best effort.
NY life, specially where I live, is fast paced. There is a lot of energy and not much silence. Here is the opposite. I don’t think I could be here 100% of the time, but being able to come and go feels wonderful.
I am just 25 minutes from Daytona. It does get very busy at times. We plan to be here off season.
I am a loyal Delta customer and keep building up the miles.
Sending you blessings and hugs!!

I felt the same way, until I bought a condo in Florida last year. I hate flying, but the destination makes it worth it.

Hi Rob,
You did? Are you my neighbor?
I love flying, and the fact that I am not here full time, makes it all so much more enjoyable.
Congratulations on acquiring the condo – may your time there be very happy!!
Do you bring Coda with you?

This is terrific news about you embracing this new life and location. I will say as a north easterner, that this shoulder season Fall weather will be glorious, and an extension on summer. I have to imagine that the summer weather will be stiflingly hot. But I am not sharing anything that you don’t already know. Politically it is also another world which goes without saying as well. Enjoy the long walks on the beach. The sunsets and the things to see and do! I am very happy for you. You have been deserving of some happiness. Cheers!

Hi Robbie,
There is a lot to like here, and also a lot not to like, humidity and politics included. For now I am embracing being here for a couple of weeks at a time. I cannot imagine being here full time – at least now I can’t… we will see what the future brings.
Thank you so much for being happy for me! I hope all is well in your world. Blessings!

I know New Smyrna beach soooo well! I was just there a couple weeks ago. Make sure you visit Celebration town. It’s a couple hours drive but worth it. Ask Michael to take you to Reggiano’s there. You’re gonna love it. And then THE BEST ice cream at Kilwins.
So so so happy for you my friend
We own a house in FL with our family so maybe we will meet there one day ♥️

I am making a note of those recommendations and will definitely get there at some point.
Perhaps we will meet in Florida instead of Canada 🙂
Thank you for being happy with me!!! We will meet here or there… it will happen!
Looking forward to catching up one of these days…
Blessings and hugs to you!

Hi Ute,
Thank you so much, and indeed, what a joy to be able to work remotely. I didn’t like it before, I thought I much rather be in the office, but now I am in love with the idea of being forever remotely.
Much love and blessings back to you!

Welcome to the South, Ana! I’d expect the Florida climate to agree with a Brazilian. Once in a great while we miss the snow in Colorado, but I really mean once in a great while (like Christmas Day). Otherwise the moderate temps are simply hard to beat.

Thank you Dave!
And that is where you are mistaken, I am one of the few Brazilians that rather be in the cold than in the hot weather 🙂
But now I feel I can have the best of both worlds.
Nothing beats a white Christmas!!
